About Us
Our Mission
The mission of A Permanent Voice is to educate, equip, and empower underserved youth, seniors, and families in South Phoenix to find their own voice and make positive life changes.
Our Vision
The vision of A Permanent Voice is that the voices of people in marginalized communities will be heard and respected, and free of fear or oppression.
Our Values
We carry out the values of Service, Empowerment, Diversity, Motivation, and Courage.
Our History
Determination to triumph over adversity and to help others have a voice is the inspiration behind A Permanent Voice. Launched in 2018, A Permanent Voice was created from the founder’s own personal trauma leaving an abusive relationship, and struggling to be heard while navigating Arizona’s complex child safety and court system to advocate for herself and her daughter.
Through this life-changing experience, she found her own voice and strength, but realized that so many others in her community of South Phoenix were still not being heard, and worse, were being forgotten. Driven to help turn this grim reality around, A Permanent Voice was born.
What We Do
A Permanent Voice provides marginalized, underrepresented youth, seniors, and families in South Phoenix and surrounding communities with vital support through education programs, community-building resources, and meaningful connections with each other.
Our programs, including Serve Our Seniors, Shoot Your Shot Literacy & Life Skills, and Team RHJ Youth Development, focus on literacy, advocacy, and mental/emotional/physical well-being, and help to equip those we serve with resiliency and the courage to find their own voice to change their lives for the better. Through valuable partnerships with Arizona cities, counties, schools, community centers, businesses, and other nonprofits, we reach and impact hundreds of individuals and families in South Phoenix and surrounding communities each year with our programs and events that shine the light on positive solutions.
Through our work and programs, we aim to ensure that underrepresented, diverse voices are heard, and that they’re empowered to make positive changes in their lives and in their communities.
